Bar Scenes
The bar scenes are a series of paintings reflecting the atmosphere in the bars of the old quarters of
Barcelona: with typical characters, men and women, spending a big amount of their time in the bars
of their neighborhood. Those scenes resulted to be an important source of inspiration for the painter.
Looking at the paintings from nearby they seem to be a diffuse composition of strokes and drips in
warm colors – looking at them from some distance the topic of the bars gain precise form.
